We sell by hanging weight — the weight of the carcass after slaughter, before aging and cutting. This is the industry standard. Final packaged weight (what you take home) is typically 60–65% of the hanging weight.

You could receive (depending on the size of the animal) approximately • Whole beef (540–600 lbs hanging) yields ~325–390 lbs packaged • Half beef yields ~160–195 lbs packaged • Whole lamb (40–50 lbs hanging) yields ~25–32 lbs packaged

You will need approximately 1 cubic foot of freezer space for 30-35lbs of package meat. • Whole beef: ~12-16 cubic feet • Half beef: ~4-6 cubic feet • Quarter beef: ~3–4 cubic feet • Whole lamb: ~2 cubic feet
